Terms of Use

1. Agreement

By accessing or using violto.com or any Violto service (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms incorporate our Privacy Policy by reference. By using the Service, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.

2. The Service

Violto is an AI-native learning platform. Users describe a topic, complete a short knowledge assessment, and Violto generates a fully structured, personalized course — calibrated to their level and learning goals. Each lesson is generated on demand using AI. Additional features include an AI chat assistant, progress tracking, and PDF export (Pro plan).

Violto is offered on a freemium basis. A free plan is available with daily usage limits. Paid Plus and Pro plans unlock unlimited usage and additional features. Free plan limits exist to keep the Service fair and available for all users.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old — or the minimum age required by applicable law in your country of residence — to use Violto. If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you must be at least 16 years old (or the applicable age of digital consent in your member state, which may be 14 or 15 in some jurisdictions). By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

You may not use the Service if you are located in a country or territory subject to applicable trade sanctions or export controls (including EU, US, or UN sanctions lists), or if you are a person or entity designated on any applicable sanctions list.

If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

4. Your Account

An account is required to use Violto. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and truthful registration information.
  • Keep your credentials secure and not share them with others.
  • Notify us immediately at support@violto.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

5. Acceptable Use

We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations of these Terms and to take any action we reasonably deem appropriate, including removing content, limiting access to certain features, suspending or terminating accounts, blocking IP addresses or sessions, and pursuing legal remedies where appropriate.

Although certain subscription plans may include unlimited use of AI-powered features, such access is intended solely for normal individual use through the Service. You may not use the Service in a manner that is excessive, abusive, automated, or inconsistent with its intended purpose, including using the Service primarily as a proxy to consume AI resources, circumvent usage restrictions, or place unreasonable load on our infrastructure. We reserve the right to limit, suspend, or terminate access to the Service if we reasonably determine that your use is abusive or threatens the reliability, security, or economic sustainability of the Service.

You agree not to use the Service to:

Prohibited Content

  • Generate or submit content that is illegal under applicable law.
  • Generate child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that exploits or harms minors.
  • Generate content that infringes intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights.
  • Generate content that promotes violence, harassment, discrimination, or hate.

Prohibited Behaviors

  • Scrape, crawl, or automate access to the Service beyond normal browser or app use.
  • Attempt to bypass quotas, rate limits, paywalls, or security measures.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service.
  • Use the Service to make high-stakes automated decisions affecting individuals without appropriate human oversight.
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.

We reserve the right to investigate violations, remove or disable access to content, suspend or terminate accounts, block IPs or sessions, and take legal action where appropriate.

6. Your Content

You retain ownership of content you submit to Violto — including topic descriptions, assessment answers, and AI chat messages ("Your Content").

By submitting Your Content, you grant Violto a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process Your Content solely to provide the Service — to generate courses, lessons, and chat responses and return them to you.

AI Training: Violto does not use Your Content to train its own AI models. Content submitted through the Service is processed by OpenAI via its API; under OpenAI's API data usage policies, such content is not used to train OpenAI's models.

You represent and warrant that you have the right to submit Your Content and that doing so does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law.

7. Generated Output

Courses, lessons, quizzes, and AI chat responses generated by Violto ("Output") are provided for your use. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Violto assigns to you any rights it may have in Output. You may use Output for personal or professional learning purposes, including commercial use.

Because Output is generated by AI models, you are responsible for:

  • Verifying the accuracy of Output before relying on it in a professional or critical context.
  • Ensuring Output does not infringe third-party trademarks, copyrighted materials, or individual likenesses.
  • Any use of Output in your own work, products, or communications.

AI-generated content may not qualify for copyright protection in all jurisdictions. Consult a lawyer if copyright ownership of AI-generated content matters for your use case.

8. AI Disclaimer

Output is produced by probabilistic AI models and may contain inaccuracies, outdated information, hallucinated facts, or unexpected results. Violto is a learning tool, not a source of authoritative factual information. Always verify important information from primary sources before acting on it. Violto is not liable for decisions made based on AI-generated Output.

9. Third-Party Services

Violto relies on third-party services to operate, including:

  • OpenAI — AI course and lesson generation, AI chat. OpenAI acts as a subprocessor and processes certain content submitted through the Service pursuant to its own policies. See OpenAI Privacy Policy.
  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription management. See Stripe Privacy Policy.
  • Supabase — authentication and data storage.

We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of these third-party services.

10. Paid Plans and Billing

Plans

Violto offers paid Plus and Pro subscription plans billed monthly or annually. Plan features and current pricing are described on the Pricing page. Prices are listed exclusive of applicable taxes; you are responsible for any VAT, GST, or other taxes that apply in your jurisdiction unless otherwise stated at checkout.

Unlimited AI usage is subject to these Terms, including the Acceptable Use section. Unlimited means no predefined usage cap for normal personal use and does not permit abusive, automated, excessive, or non-intended use of the Service.

Billing and Cancellation

  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual).
  • You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Your paid plan remains active until the end of the current billing period.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use of the Service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

Refunds

Except where required by applicable law (including statutory consumer rights under EU/UK law), payments are non-refundable and no partial refunds are issued for unused time in a billing period. If you believe you are entitled to a refund under applicable law, contact us at support@violto.com.

Payment Processing

Payments are processed by Stripe. By purchasing a subscription, you authorize Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. All charges are in USD unless stated otherwise at checkout.

11. Feedback

If you submit feedback, suggestions, bug reports, or ideas about the Service ("Feedback"), you grant Violto a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, and incorporate that Feedback into the Service without any obligation to you. Feedback does not constitute Your Content under Section 6.

12. Intellectual Property

Violto owns all rights to the Violto name, logo, website design, source code, user interface, and curated content (collectively, "Violto IP"). Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use Violto IP outside of using the Service as described herein.

User-submitted content and AI-generated Output are explicitly excluded from Violto IP as described in Sections 6 and 7 above.

13. Force Majeure

Violto is not liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations under these Terms resulting from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, pandemic, war, government action, power outages, internet or telecommunications failures, or failures of third-party service providers (including OpenAI, Stripe, or Supabase). In such events, our obligations are suspended for the duration of the force majeure event.

14. Termination

You may close your account at any time from your account settings. Upon account deletion, your account data will be removed within 30 days, subject to applicable law and the retention obligations described in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account, or remove or disable access to Your Content, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms, engage in conduct that harms the Service or other users, or if required by law. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

Sections 7 (Generated Output), 8 (AI Disclaimer), 11 (Feedback), 15 (Disclaimer of Warranties), 16 (Limitation of Liability), 17 (Indemnity), and 18 (Governing Law) survive termination.

15. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. VIOLTO DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT AI-GENERATED OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR FREE OF INFRINGING CONTENT.

16. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, VIOLTO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL VIOLTO'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO VIOLTO IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50 FOR FREE PLAN USERS.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law, and the above limitations may not apply to you.

17. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Violto, its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) Your Content; (b) your use of generated Output; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights or applicable law.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland, excluding its conflict of law rules. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Poland.

If you are a consumer resident in the EU or UK, this does not affect your right to bring claims before the courts of your country of residence under mandatory local consumer protection law.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we will notify you by email or in-app notice.

Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.
